born 23 December 1947

Skegness, England

Bonnet had early chart success with The Marbles in 1968 reaching No.5 in the UK singles chart with ‘Only One Woman’. He recorded a follow up the next year but then quit to record advertising jingles and even appeared in the 1974 comedy film ‘Three For All’. He recorded a solo album in 1977 achieving success in Australia and repeating this the following year recording a Bee Gees penned single. He was recruited into Rainbow in 1979, a complete contrast in image and style to former vocalist Ronnie James Dio. Despite achieving commercial success with ‘All Night Long’ and ‘Since You Been Gone’, Bonnet quit at the end of 1980 to pursue a solo career and then joining bands such as Michael Schenker Group and then Alcatrazz until 1986. He participated in various low key projects until 2010 when he reformed Alcatrazz (albeit with completely new musicians).
