Mickey Lee Soule
‘Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow’ 1975

Michael ‘Mickey’ Lee Soule
born: 6 June 1946
Cortland, New York, USA

Soule joined Dio’s band The Elves which changed its name to Elf shortly after. Along with the remaining members of Elf (minus the guitar player of course) they formed Ritchie Blackmore’s new band, Rainbow in 1975. Upon completing the album, however, all the musicians except Dio were fired and replaced with new members. Soule toured with Ian Gillan’s band in 1976 and completed various other low-key projects, including becoming the keyboard technician for Deep Purple on recent live performances.
